How to Book Your Session


Booking a session is easy! On this page (and also on my website home page), you'll see an orange icon (the mobile site has just a circle with a calendar icon in the center, while the desktop site has an oval with 'book a session' in the center):


I always ask that clients reach out via email or Facebook to discuss the details of their session before reserving a date and time, which is why the I have a tab in all caps that reads READ BEFORE BOOKING.  This allows me to get details that I need to make sure I have everything I need to make sure you get the photos your want.  If you are booking a special holiday themed mini, there's no need to email before booking, minis can be booked without prior communication.  When you press the orange icon, a menu of services will show, and you simply select the type of session you are looking to book. Under the children menu is where you'll find milestone and one year sessions.

Within each menu are the different sessions offered, you simply choose whichever session you are looking to book. 

When you select the session you'd like to reserve, a brief description will show you what's included with the session (full session description is always on the website under session pricing).  You will also have to check a box acknowledging that you are paying a non-refundable deposit to reserve your session date and time. 

On the next screen you'll be asked to select your date and time, and this is where some clients have issues.  The calendar jumps from week to week, so it's always important to make sure you have the correct date selected at the top of the calendar to see all availability. If you are using a touch screen device (cell phone), you simply use your finger to select the month, and again to select the date within that month.  If you do not have your preferred date selected, you will not see the times available.  Also, if the date is in light gray, that means it is not available (if you select a light gray date, you'll see No Availability). 

After selecting your date and time, you will be given the studio address.

Press continue, and you'll be asked if you'd like to enter notes for your session (first birthday theme, adding siblings to photoshoot, etc). If no notes are entered, you can still continue. 

The next screen will then ask for your contact information and also your payment information.  At this time, there is a $20 deposit to hold your calendar date.  If you have an emergency or illness and need to cancel less than 48 hours before the session, you can reschedule your session using your original deposit.  If you cancel a cake smash session less than 48 hours before your appointment, your deposit is non-refundable, as the cake will already be ordered and paid for. 

Once you press the pay button, I will get an email to confirm the session, and your card will not be charged until I approve the session(I always approve sessions that have been discussed in advance with clients).  The balance of your session isn't due until the time of your session, and I will reach out about a week before your appointment to confirm your appointment and also send session details and important items to bring to your session. I will typically email you and ask for a confirmation just to make sure my emails aren't going into your spam folder.
